I'm often asked the question "What kind of people make the best distributors?" On a recent trip through Europe, I was told by a new distributor that they were working with professional people, "the very highest quality," and therefore believed they would do very well with this approach. It is almost impossible to predict which person will succeed and which will fail. Our business is built on relationships with people linked together by common goals. We need to consistently remind ourselves that we should not prejudge anyone. It is not our level of formal education that makes us successful. It is not our age, our color, our race, whether we are rich or poor, or whether we are a man or a woman. These things do not matter. However, these are the things we see when we attempt to prejudge a person. What is important are the things we cannot see.
We cannot see IMAGINATION, WILL, and DETERMINATION, yet these things make the difference as to whether a person succeeds or fails. You have heard it said that "He or she has a wild imagination." You have also heard the phrase "He or she is strong-willed." The same has been said about DETERMINATION - "He or she is DETERMINED and they won't quit!" Our imagination makes us want to do something. This is where our dreams come from, when we imagine the possibilities that could occur in our lives. A strong WILL gives us power and strength when hooked up with our purpose. DETERMINATION gives us time to learn because we refuse to quit! These are the important things in our lives, the things we need to exercise and spend time and energy on, which will make the difference and determine our success or failure as well as the success or failure of the people we introduce to GNLD.
The primary task in our business never changes. It's getting new prospects: 1) Qualifying them - in other words, visiting with them to find out if they're interested; 2) Explaining our GNLD business to them; getting a decision from them, and should they become a GNLD customer or distributor, building a relationship that will last over time.
During this process, the quality of their lives will be improved by using our products and building a GNLD business. By awakening their IMAGINATION, WILL, and DETERMINATION and helping them realize their dreams by setting goals and making plans, wonderful relationships will be built - relationships that will last a lifetime. As a result of making a positive difference in the lives of the team, we also make a positive difference in our life and in the lives of our families. |
