Arthur E. Furst, Ph.D., Sc.D., D.A.T.S.

Picture of Dr. Furst Until 1980, Dr. Furst was a professor at Stanford University, served at the University of California, and was Distinguished University Professor Emeritus at the University of San Francisco, where he was awarded a Doctor of Science degree for his pioneering work in toxicology. Dr. Furst is internationally recognized in academic circles for his scientific achievements in the fields of toxicology and cancer research. He is credited with being the founder of chemotherapy. Two of his discoveries are considered standard procedure by nearly all physicians who treat cancer. He developed screening methods for chemotherapeautic drugs, and he discovered that cancer cells become resistant to chemotherapy agents, which led to the practice of treating cancer patients with multiple anti-cancer agents. His extensive research into heavy metals has established him as the world's foremost authority on toxicology. He is a member of 15 scientific societies and a Fellow of five societies. He has authored over 250 publications in cancer research, organic synthesis, psychopharmacology, and toxicology. He lectures at universities throughout the world, as well as advising governments. Believing that proper nutrition can protect people from cancer.Dr. Furst joined Golden Neo-Life Diamite in 1978 because he saw the company's genuine desire to help people. He is currently the Senior Member of the SAB.

Arianna Carughi, Ph.D., C.N.S.

Picture of Dr. Carughi Dr. Carughi has a BA in Biology/Ecology and Conservation from Vassar College, a Master of Sciences degree in Human Nutrition from Columbia University, and a Ph.D. in Nutritional Sciences from the University of California at Berkeley. Dr. Carughi holds the title of Fellow at Stanford University and the title of Certified Nutrtion Specialist (C.N.S.) from the American College of Nutrition. She has received the Neizer Fellowship from Stanford University and a National Institute of Health (NIH) research grant in experimental nutrition. Working with GNLD, she authored a report in 1993: "Plasma Carotenoid Levels Before and After Supplementation With a Carotenoid Complex" and presented it at the New York Academy of Sciences. This article was published in the highly selective American Journal of Clinical Nutrition in April 1994. Out of concern that much valuable research was not being put to practical use, Dr. Carughi joined GNLD so that her discoveries could help in the development of life-changing products.. Fluent in English, Spanish, and Italian and with extensive scientific contacts worldwide, Dr. Carughi is particularly passionate about the leading-edge role the Golden Neo-Life Diamite SAB plays in facilitating the international exchange of groundbreaking nutritional research.
